Welcome to my Craft Roulette #101 entry!

Have you heard of Craft Roulette? Every Friday evening, on Youtube, Mary Gunn hosts a live show where she spins a wheel to randomly select four categories that will be the criteria for building a card. Mary and a guest will create a card using these criteria and then you are given 48 hours to submit your own for a chance at a prize! Check out the Craft Roulette website for more information.

This was my first time hearing about them and so I decided to take part and I had a lot of fun doing it! The criteria picked for Craft Roulette #101 were:

  • Matchbook Card
  • 3 pastel colours (neutral colours allowed as well)
  • Quilt element
  • Incorporate diagonal lines

For this card, I brought out my Spellbinders Colorblock Circles & Stripes Dies which was a Large Die of the Month purchase from June 2021. I used the large strips die to cut out 3 pastel coloured cardstock as my background. I used some silver specialty cardstock from my stash to create a heart to mimic a quilt element. I simply cut these out using a paper trimmer in 1/2 inch strips, and then I arranged them to create a heart shape. Since this is a matchbook card, there is a staple in the middle which I covered with some pearlescent cardstock and stamped it with the sentiment “Thinking of you”. To finish the card off, I adding a silver glitter straight peel-off sticker from Love From Lizi, and added some dots using the same white pearlescent cardstock.
