Welcome to my Craft Roulette #121 entry!

Have you heard of Craft Roulette? Every Friday evening, on Youtube, Mary Gunn hosts a live show where she spins a wheel to randomly select four categories that will be the criteria for building a card. Mary and a guest will create a card using these criteria and then you are given 48 hours to submit your own for a chance at a prize! Check out the Craft Roulette website for more information.

Criteria and implementation

  • Product: Book binding card
  • Colours: Any 3 colours
  • Element: House(s)
  • Random: Small Scene

One fun part about Craft Roulette is creating something new, and book binding is one of those type of cards. I have never made one before, and I probably won’t make another lol, but it was fairly simple. For my card, I cut the base at 4 1/4″ by 11″ and scored at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″ mark. Once the card is completely done, you will glue down that margin so only a portion of the card opens up. You do not need to make a large margin like I did.

The colours I chose for this card were green, red and purple. The sky was blended with Candy Apple Oxide, Wilted Violet Oxide and Spun Sugar Oxide. The houses were coloured with red and purple Copic markers and the trees coloured in shades of green. The stamps used for the scene are from old Simon Says Stamps card kit.

I then completed the card by propping up the butterfly and sentiment with foam tape and adhered some bling. Easy peasy!
