Welcome to my Craft Roulette #151 entry!
Have you heard of Craft Roulette? Every Friday evening, on Youtube, Mary Gunn hosts a live show where she spins a wheel to randomly select four categories that will be the criteria for building a card. Mary and a guest will create a card using these criteria and then you are given 48 hours to submit your own for a chance at a prize! Check out the Craft Roulette website for more information.
Criteria and implementation
- Product: For a friend
- Colours: Blue Jeans +2
- Element: Starts with F
- Random: stack(s)
Today I decided to play with some Heffy Doodle products, which I had recently received and really wanted to play with them!
The grass and sky where created using ink smooshing with Catherine Pooler inks. I used regular 80lb cardstock for my ink smooshing and when I was done I went over again with the ink and a brush. By doing this, you cover any light areas.
The window on the card was cut out 2 using my Cricut since I do not have a window die, that I’m aware of, and glued them together for some dimension. I placed the leaves out on the background so I knew how I’d like to see them, and then glued them to the back of the window. I wanted to create the visual that the leaves are outside flying past the window, so any pieces hanging off the edge were snipped off.
To finalize the card, I added the sentiment “So Thankful” and some blue gems from Spellbinders.
