I was pleasantly surprised how relaxing it was to cut and stamp butterflies on pattern paper. Sometimes I have a hard time throwing away scraps of pattern paper that I enjoy, so this was perfect!
I cut the butterflies in all the different scraps to create a small pile, and then I started to stamp each one using the coordinating stamp set by Prickley Pear Stamps.
This card design works best when you have a pile of butterflies to work with, so don’t worry about creating too many. You start at the bottom right and make sure you cover the background completely, and this will be your base. Now you want to make the butterflies follow a path, keeping in mind they would never stick in a straight line.
Don’t forget to put some of the butterflies over the edge so that when you cut them off, it gives the impression of a continuous image. Make sure you leave a few of the butterflies behind because we are going to fold them in half and glue them down only in the centre.
The folded butterflies give a nice lively dimension to your card :-). I finished the card off with some embellishments I had in my stash that matched the colours of the pattern paper.
