Welcome to my Craft Roulette #138 entry!
Have you heard of Craft Roulette? Every Friday evening, on Youtube, Mary Gunn hosts a live show where she spins a wheel to randomly select four categories that will be the criteria for building a card. Mary and a guest will create a card using these criteria and then you are given 48 hours to submit your own for a chance at a prize! Check out the Craft Roulette website for more information.
Criteria and implementation
- Product: Window
- Colours: Red, yellow + 1
- Element: November
- Random: 3 circles
Continuing with the Autumn theme, I was inspired to create a simple Thankful card.
To start the card off, I ink blended using a rectangle mask on the centre of the card. The colours I used are from Pink Fresh Studio called Stargazer, Candy apple, and Sweet mustard. For my element, November, I used colourful leaves which were cut out with Kat Scrappiness’ Autumn Foliage die set. I cut the smaller set of leaves from red and yellow cardstock and inked them up with some Vintage Photo Distress ink.
The window on the card was cut out 2 using my Cricut since I do not have a window die, that I’m aware of, and glued them together for some dimension. I placed the leaves out on the background so I knew how I’d like to see them, and then glued them to the back of the window. I wanted to create the visual that the leaves are outside flying past the window, so any pieces hanging off the edge were snipped off.
To finalize the card, I added the sentiment “So Thankful” and some blue gems from Spellbinders.
