Introduction
Today, I’m excited to share a beautiful card I created using the Beach Retreat foilable flash card from Pajama Crafter Stamps. This card features a stunning starfish on a beach scene and showcases the versatility of foiling techniques.
Materials:
- Beach Retreat flash card by Pajama Crafter Stamps
- Blue and gold foil
- Printer paper
- Light blue and brown ink
- White acrylic marker
- Coloured pencils
- Microfiber cloth
- White and kraft cardstock
Instructions:
- Foil the Card: Apply blue foil to the sentiment and gold foil to the starfish.
- Create the Background: Rip a piece of printer paper to create the waves between the water and sand. Ink the top of the panel in a light blue ink and then flip the printer paper so that you can colour the bottom in a brown ink. Use a light hand and the same blue ink to add subtle shading to the middle area.
- Add Details: Use a white acrylic marker to add dots to resemble the foam of incoming water. I also used different shades of orange and brown pencil crayons to colour in the starfish and to create a shadow on the sand.
- Assemble the Card: Trim the panel to 3 3/4 x 5 inches and glue it to a piece of white cardstock measuring 4 x 5 1/4 inches. Add this panel to an A2 Kraft card base.
Tips:
- Test with the ink you have to ensure it will come off the foil. The inks I have used were Distress inks and oxides and Pink Fresh inks.
- Experiment with different colours of foil and ink to create unique variations.
- Consider adding other embellishments, such as glitter or sequins, to further personalize your card.
Conclusion:
This foiled card is a beautiful and unique way to express your creativity. By following these simple steps, you can create a stunning card that is sure to impress your loved ones.
